Doug got his first guitar at the age of 14 and learned to play classical music--until he hears what Randy Rhodes can do with a guitar. From that moment, he knows what he wants: to play rock n' roll.

A self taught musician, he has formed or joined a myriad of guitar oriented bands. One of Doug's nicknames is "the Riffripper", which he earned from his talented guitar ability and vast vocabulary of riffs and solos, as he has been playing in rocks bands for just over 20 years.

Doug joined Def Repplica after answering a local ad and being introduced to the band by the previous drummer. He immediately recognizes Dane and Dave from their former gigs with earlier bands and brief acquaintances throughout the years.

A Def Leppard fan favoring the "early years", he considers Steve Clark a vital influence. Like the man he impersonates, he gets bored of the rehearsing and thrives to perform the live shows. Doug has the look, energy, moves, and showmanship that will have you believing your are witnessing the Steamin' one, alive and in person.
